Alcoholics Anonymous

Alcoholics Anonymous

Due to COVID, AA is not currently meeting at MUMC.

Manchaca United Methodist Church hosts a weekly AA meeting at 7:30 pm every Monday.   The group meets in room 9, which is located  just inside the east entrance of the main Church building.   The location allows easy, private access from the Church's east parking lot.

Working the AA program allows men and women to escape the bondage of addiction and to resume their normal, productive places in society.   It allows us to tap into a power greater than ourselves, and to achieve a humility that embodies a clear recognition of what and who we really are, followed by a sincere attempt to become what we could be.

Do you have a drinking (or substance abuse) problem?

AA suggests two simple questions that help answer this question:

1.  If, when you honestly want to, you find you cannot quit entirely, or

2.  If, when drinking, you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably an alcoholic.
