A Bit About Me:
I was born in Ohio, Raised in California, and have lived in Texas for the last Decade. My beautiful wife, Lisa, is from San Antonio and one of the reasons I kept coming back to this state. We have a beautiful daughter, Guinevere (3), and stout little son, Huxley (10 months)!
I was not raised in an overly religious home. I started attending a Youth Group with a friend in middle school, and I became a Christian right before I entered High School. My Youth Pastor had a major influence on me making that decision, and ever since then, I knew that I wanted to help youth like he helped me. Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Youth Ministry from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, set to graduate in May of 2020.
I have a deep passion for the Bible and helping youth to grow in their understanding of it. As Paul writes to Timothy: "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness." (2 Tim 3:16 NASB)
Along with that, I also desire to help youth see that they are an integral part of the body of Christ, that they do not need to wait till they are older to start serving God. "Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe." (1 Tim 4:12 NASB)
I am excited to serve here at Manchaca UMC and look forward to seeing all that Jesus Christ does in the lives of our youth, as well as the congregation as a whole.
