What To Expect
New To MUMC?
Whether you’re searching for a church home or just visiting, you are welcome at MUMC! You're going to find grace and hospitality at this church.
Tell Me About Worship
We have three Sunday morning services. Our traditional services are in the main sanctuary at 8:30am & 11am.
Our contemporary service is known as Life On The Road. It's at 11am and is located in the Family Life Center (the metal building on the southern part of the property).
A Contemplative Worship service is held each Wednesday morning at 6:00am in the prayer room (next to the main sanctuary). It's a great way to start off your day with some focus and reflection on God. You are welcome to come and go as you wish until 6:30am. Coffee and fellowship follow the service.
What should I wear?
Whatever you are comfortable in! Some folks dress in their “Sunday best”, others in jeans and t-shirts, and others somewhere in between. You are welcome here no matter what you look like. We’re just glad you’re here!
Is there something for my kids?
We have something for every age! Children of all ages are always welcome in any service, and we have materials to help them participate in worship in a way that works for them. All services include a Children’s Time that brings the lesson or theme of the day to children in a way that they can understand. If you prefer, we also offer a fully staffed nursery for infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
Sunday School is from 9:45 - 10:45am
with classes for all ages.
Where do I go?
The two traditional services are in the main sanctuary. This is located on the far north side of the property and is accessible from either the east or west parking lots.
The contemporary service (Life On The Road) is in the Family Life Center. This is the metal building at the southern part of the property.
What should I expect at worship?
Worship at MUMC is designed to bring people closer to God through music, prayer and preaching. Both traditional services in the sanctuary include time-honored hymns with responsive liturgies and prayers. The 8:30am service offers communion every Sunday. All other services offer communion on the first Sunday of the month. The 11:00am service includes a robed choir singing hymns and special music.
The contempoary Life on the Road service features a less structured order with a relevant message wrapped in modern praise music provided by a live band. If you feel most connected to God by singing praise music and active involvement in worship, this is the place for you.
Why should I sign in?
Because we want to know you! What you tell us about yourself when you sign in helps us learn how we can best serve you and help you connect and serve. Also, we keep track of who's here and who's coming back to help us gage whether we are effectively carrying out our mission to make new followers of Jesus Christ. We want to change the world, and we need you to do it!
Do I have to be a member to participate in small groups or other activities?
Absolutely not! Whether this is your first time here or you have been here for years, if you feel called to get involved, come on in!
