Food
Pantry

Saturdays

9:00 - 11:00 am

Do you need help with food?

Our food pantry provides a pre-sacked bag of food for people who need help. Each bag provides canned meat, vegetables, and fruit as well as soup, rice, beans, and more. Also, we provide fresh bread, diapers, and wipes. When available, we also have paper towels, toilet paper, and toiletries.

We distribute food every Saturday from 9 to 11 am. Look for the food pantry signs along 1626 on the church property. The drive-through is on the East side of the church (enter from Deane Drive). Click here to see a map of how to get to our building.

Please note that the distribution location has changed due to an accident on our West entrance. The Food Pantry is still here to serve you, but on the East side!

When you arrive, stay in your car — your food will be brought to you. You may visit the drive-through every other week.

Supporting the Food Pantry

1.  We collect donated food at the church on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 -11 am

On Wednesdays, drop food off outside of the church's east side double doors in the collection container. You will also find shopping lists here that you may take with you to help you shop, or you can click here for a printable food pantry shopping list. On Saturdays, bring your donations to East side of the building (where the drive-through Pantry is taking place).

2.  Send monetary donations or H-E-B gift cards to the church at Manchaca UMC, PO Box 460, Manchaca, TX 78652

Be sure to write "food pantry" on the memo line of your check. These funds will help us buy items that we need. You may also donate through our online giving portal by selecting "food pantry" as the fund.

3.  Donate food or funds to help Akins students that are experiencing homelessness

During the school year, MUMC helps to supply the students with individually wrapped snacks such as: granola bars, trail mix, cereal bars, popcorn, cookies, crackers, nuts, chips, Takis, fruit snacks pop tarts, etc. We also provide these students with non-perishable lunches. Please make sure that provided items are easy open and do not need refrigeration. Bottled water is also appreciated and accepted. We also assemble bags of travel size toiletries such as: hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, lotion, toothpaste, etc., and we provide the students with these items throughout the school year. Please mark your donations clearly as "Akins" and drop off during the Food Pantry collection times listed in point 1, above.
