Growing in Grace
Following the WORSHIP+2 Initiative
A disciple is a follower of Jesus who is intentionally growing in their love of God and neighbor. John Wesley’s means of grace are the everyday practices through which we experience and share God’s free gift of love and acceptance, and how God shapes and forms us to be more like Christ. The various means of grace can be divided into works of piety, practices that nurture our relationship with God, and works of mercy, acts of love toward others.
As disciples of Christ, we invite you to participate in the means of grace and grow in your faith journey through the WORSHIP+2 initiative. All members of Manchaca UMC are encouraged to participate regularly in corporate worship as you are able, plus engage in at least one work of piety and one work of mercy.
Mercy
Acts of compassion and justice, sharing God’s love with others.

Worship
Worship is the foundational act of Christian life and our response to God’s grace. As disciples we are called to worship in community, share in the sacraments of communion and baptism, and give our lives as a holy and living sacrifice to God. Giving is an integral part of worship as we respond to God’s goodness and depend on God for our daily needs.
