Manchaca United Methodist Church supports Akins High School unhoused and underprivileged Seniors every year with gifts to help them after graduation. Some students move on to college with financial aid while others still try to find their path in the next chapters of their lives and continue to work.
Cathleen Stadler works with the social worker at Manchaca United Methodist Church, Meg Kozal, to get an idea of what the seniors will be doing after high school graduation (since they are to remain anonymous) to get an idea of their needs to give them a head start. These gifts range from school supplies to household goods like silverware, pots and pans, new bedding, gift cards for clothing for work or personal hygiene items, and food. The Seniors also receive a laptop.
Thanks to all who help support!
