The beautiful spring vegetation and the near close of Oak pollen season makes me want to walk again! Taking BotheDog along for a couple of miles walking in the neighborhood on these very nice spring evenings is a must. Now then, ready set go!
This Sunday we hear in Luke 24:13-35 the resurrection story of when a stranger joins two downtrodden disciples for their walk home from Jerusalem to Emmaus. For at least several hours they are engaged with this man listening to all he has to say about the Christ. Once at their village, they invite the stranger inside for a meal. He is invited to break the bread for them. And all at once they recognize him as Jesus. And then he is gone.
Many lessons can be gleaned from this story. For me, the walk that begins in despair and ends in awe and amazement is a prime lesson to start with Along the Way. What happens at the table and the breaking of the bread is one of the most revealing moments in Luke’s gospel.
Join us Sunday as we walk along the road with Jesus.
